The Ranch is in a fly zone for the traveling birds. The ranchers have helped raised hummingbirds, swallows, vultures and Eagles, providing them with plenty of water.  Keeping the feeder full of sugar water, provided a cozy home for the swallows, up under the eves of the house, keeping the porch light on so the bug eating birds and bats have plenty to feed their youngsters. Never touching them.  Just enjoy watching them take care of the families. There are coyotes, turkeys, raccoons and foxes on the low desert, plus there are bears and mountain lions in the high mountains.
