HMA for the Sulphur Herd is
approximately 142,800 acres and covers the entire Needle Range. Most of the
area is unfenced, located in Southwestern Utah, near Cedar City. The Needle Range is 40 miles
long and is located east of the Nevada-Utah border. Indian Peak Mountain Range on the south and Mountain
Home Range on the north. Indian Peak Range is a mountain range in Beaver
County in the state of Utah. It is 7,405 feet above sea level. GPS
coordinates are N 38.199128 and W -113.88914 and Indian Peak has an elevation
of 9,790 feet. There are still Sulphurs on the Indian Peaks Paiute
Reservation area. |

Mountain Home Range is a mountain range in Beaver County in the state of
Utah. It is 8,176 feet above sea level. GPS coordinates are N 38.5269 and W
-113.970814. The highest elevation in the Mountain Home Range is 9,480
feet. Hamblin Valley is on the west, Pine Valley is on the east and the
Escalante Desert is on the south. Antelope Valley, the Burbank Hills and
Great Basin National Park are on the north. Elevations of the surrounding
valley floors are between 5,000 - 6,000 feet. These Wild Horses
could have been named The Needle Range Mustangs. The name of Sulphur is from
a spring where some of the horses were seen. |

to proclaim The Sulphur Springs Mustang as Utah's Heritage Sulphur Horse,
keeping the herd intact and in Utah, forever! |
